On Thursday, October 7, Project Access celebrated becoming part of the Townsend Apartment Homes community in Jacksonville, Florida. A new 1,100 square-foot Project Access resource center is now a reality for Townsend residents. The center was created and funded through the generosity of Federal Capital Partners (FCP), a Maryland-based privately held real estate investment company with operating partners in commercial and residential assets.
The grand opening day was highlighted by an official ribbon-cutting ceremony. Participants in the festivities included local Councilmember Joyce Morgan, Assistant Police Chief Lakesha Burton, many of her fellow officers, other members of the Townsend property team and the Jacksonville community, plus members of our Project Access team.
The opening day series of events also included tours of the resource center, toe-tapping live music, lots of fun photos to document the day (including poses with, and tours of, a local fire truck thanks to Jacksonville Fire and Rescue), and raffles and games. Food trucks provided tasty complementary lunch time items and refreshments (including shaved ice and ice cream). Other highlights included the distribution of taste-tempting cupcakes and Project Access sippy cups, gift bags and school supplies.
This grand opening celebration was the result of wonderful collaborations between so many teams and entities as represented in the videos and photos below.
