Happy “May the 4th Be With You” Day! On this unofficial holiday, Star War fans celebrate their favorite space saga and adventures that took place a long time ago in a galaxy far, far, away. Now you might think to yourself, “What does any of this have to do with Project Access?” Well, sit back, get comfortable in your cantina booth, pour yourself some blue milk, and we’ll explain.
Among our Residents, we have many who are ardent Star Wars fans both young and . . . older (not Obi-Wan Kenobi or Yoda old but close). Our younger Residents, especially, never miss a chance to partake in their Star Wars fandom. Before COVID-19 appeared, a few of our lucky young Residents enjoyed at day at Disneyland, exploring the new Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge and truly living their Star Wars fantasies.
Many of our young Residents can easily remind you of being aspiring Jedi Knights. They work hard, they’re diligent, and are always on a path of self-improvement. The Force is strong with them. They are determined to do well for themselves, their families, and their communities. Some of them may have a touch of the rascally Han Solo in them or may appear a little ferocious like Chewbacca but nonetheless only use the Force for good and always believe in “A New Hope.”
We apologize for such a pun-filled blog post but we’re sure many of you have seen little Star Wars fans light-up when enjoying their fandom. The Star Wars universe provides a positive escape from the day’s troubles so it’s always fun to see our Residents or Staff celebrate on May 4th. When they laugh and smile on this unofficial Star Wars holiday you know “The Force Awakens.”
